I agree to a point, but there is no causal

relationship between brain functioning and

Realization. Brain functioning does not and can not

"give rise" to pure consciousness. "It" is

supportless. In many post people seem to imply that

Realization is somehow created or supported by a

particular type of brain functioning. Ain't so Joe!


While I agree with you in general, there is a whole new group of people who experiment with modifying brain waves via binaural beats to attain higher states of consciousness. This used to be available thru expensive tapes or CD series, but now isĀ available to anyone thru open source software. A friend who is a real advocate, is now able to transcend for extended periods of time using this technology. So there are examples of it working the other way (i.e. modifying the brain to attain higher states of consciousness rather than modifying consciousness and the brain follows).
