Why? To be fair, he probably just inadvertently said "internet" when he meant to say "email." And you can sort of figure out what he means by "What happens to your own personal internet?" And then later when he talks about the Internet being "a series of tubes," he probably means "pipes," which is more or less accurate. So he's more terminologically than conceptually challenged.
