TorquoiseB wrties (snipped)
I'm a bit of a hard case on this subject :-), but I think
that trusting *anyone* more than you trust yourself is
the culprit here. The problem is not in trusting Maharishi
and what he says more than you trust your own perceptions,
it's trusting *anyone* -- any authority figure in the
world -- more than you trust your own perceptions. The
very process of doing this is, in my opinion, contrary
to the process of enlightenment.

Tom T:
Have to agree with this wholeheartedly. When we look at anyone or
thing outside of ourselves we are buying into the addictive process
that our society constantly reinforces. To be in that addictive
process is to be in the Big Lie. When we tell ourselves our truth we
are heading in the direction of understanding and the Big E. When we
listen to the lies of our society that someone knows better than us
what our truth is we are hooked back into being an addict and looking
for approval and validation outside of ourselves. The whole world
operates on this addictive process. To get awake is to get out of that
mindset and know what is true for you. Tom
