[FairfieldLife] 'Maharishi's Definition of Mantra'

The word Mantra, was made a household name, by Maharishi Mahesh Yogi;

Now, a mantra is used in TM or Transcendental Meditation, to transcend.

The process of transcending, according to Maharishi,

Involves the use of receiving the correct sound, or mantra;

And the process by which the mantra or sound is thought of,

In an effortless manner...

Now, the mantra has been associated with certain 'Gods';

In Hindu literature, like Vishnu, Shiva, Rama, and Saraswati...

Maharishi never claimed to be teaching these mantras;

As names of God.

If he wanted to describe the mantra in this way;

He would have.

Instead he chose, not to dwell so much on artistic fantasy;

Of depictions of these many Hindu Gods.

But, rather, have the person think of the mantra, as a sound or vibration;

Not so much a visualization of God, as one would visualize Jesus;

The Caesar God, of the Roman Catholics, based of course;

In Rome.

So, in conclusion, I just wanted to remind everyone;

It's not so much important the particular name you give to the 'God';

Of your own free will choosing;

Or even have 'No God at all...

Or a God with no name, at all...

Because, in the end, it is not so much the name we

Assign to our 'God'.

But in the end;

It will be our God who sees us;

For who we were in this life.

Were we kind to the children, plants and animals?

Were we kind and protective of God's good earth.

Did we honor and cherish the Human Beings;

Whom The God of our choosing;

Placed on our path.
