Robert, you assume that if someone doesn't want to call him 'Maharishi' they must necessarily hate him or be jealous or be envious of him. But that really does not follow.
You ask 'the intention behind what name to call Maharishi?' Personally, when I am not referring to him as Maharishi Mahesh Yogi I usually follow the convention of calling him 'the Maharishi' since I believe this is how the press and the general public most often referred to him at the height of his fame in 1967/68. I do this because I wish to distance myself from the impression that I might be a 'follower' or a 'disciple, or that I believe him to be a 'maharishi' (great sage). If it were my intention to mock him I could adopt one of the many names that have come up over the years such as Brenda, Sexy Sadie, Very Vichi Lotsamoney Yogi, Gigglananda, Man of La Mantra or the Giggling Guru. --- In [email protected], "Robert Gimbel" > So, what is the intention behind what name to call Maharishi? > If you hate him for some reason, or are jealous or envious of him; > Perhaps you could come up with all kinds of names for him. > Yeah, so...
