I just went back and read it again too, and it
really is quite extraordinary. I have no idea
whether Michael's theory is "true" or not, but
it sure does a good job of making sense of what
we tend to perceive as the nuttiness of what
MMY's been doing lately. I haven't seen any
alternative explanations that account for as
many aspects of that apparent nuttiness as
Michael's does.

I also read over some of the responses. Most
were really appallingly shallow, the standard
knee-jerk True Nonbeliever negativity.
(Complaints, for example, that it was "too long"
and therefore must be "defending the indefensible"
--this from people who never even read it. Or
maybe they *did* read it, realized it was pretty
convincing, and were anxious to discourage others
from reading it, because it makes their constant
petty carping look awfully silly, EVEN IF
Michael's completely wrong about the whole thing.)
