The Raja thing is just one of Maharishis ways to keep people busy, and to keep other people unstressing. Those involved are basically rajasic, at least that is my impression. They can't sit for long meditations, so Maharihsi keep them preoccupied with other games. If crowns and all that rubbish makes some unstress their wits out, so much for the better.
