Actually, the reason I asked the question was because when the Khmer 
Rouge was in power, they used to round up people who wore glaases and 
kill them...the reasoning was that intellectuals disproportionately 
wear glasses more than dumblings and they wanted to do away with the 
intellectuals.

Having lasik does away with the need for glasses and, thusly, less 
chance of being picked out by Pol Pot et al.
