The police stop the tourist and will let them go for a bribe. Everybody's happy and a little richer except for the tourist. My friend didn't understand this and failed to bribe the Turkish police officer. He spent a year in jail getting raped on a daily basis before he was let out through lots of $'s and political pressure.
