Boy. Talk about a glass half full view! :)
My reaction was it was sweet. MMY still thinks i am part of the team.
:) Even though I have been on the bench for years, not even showing up
to the ballpark for long periods. Even playing for other teams a bit.
Its not a job, my god. Its a relationship. The golden thread, heart to
heart. The outer foms of that relationship may have change
substantially over the years. We may have moved on. But that golden
thread will always be there. At least for me.

I was disappointed a bit with the questionaire. It had some merit, but
could have been much better, more revealing, IMO. Perhaps echoing what
Doug wrote, re: get to the second tier -- the form could have drawn
out much more real answers, giving a much better assessment of the
potential of rallying the troops. For example,
- Instead of solely "yes/no" answers, add a "maybe". And a follow-up,
"if maybe, what would enable you to come i) short-term, ii) longer
term. Provide multiple choice answers AND a text area for further
comments (no space limit).
-Doing the following for "no" answers would be revelaing too.
- Add some detailed cojoint analysis type questions (multiple choice),
along the lines of:
* what is the probability you would particpate for 3 / 6 / 12 months
if: stipend of 500/ 1000/ 1500 were provided?
* what is the probability you would particpate for 12/24/36 months
if: health insurance, housing and dining hall priveleges / job or
stipend providing a minumum 1000 / 2000/ 3000 were provided
* what is the increased (over above) probability you would particpate
if funds for such TMO commitments were placed in an escrow account
managed by an independent party?
* what is the increased (over above) probability you would
particpate if: AV checkup were provide every 3/12/24 months, A/V herbs
were provided at 25% / 50% / 66% off retail price / AV clinic was
provided at 20% / 35% / 50% off street price / a high-scale singles
sidha mixer/ events were provided 1/month, 4x/yr, if a jyotish
reading was provided every 6 /12 /24 months, if 1 / 2 /4 /6 yagyas
were provided every 3/12/24 months, tuition recuctions at MUM were
provided at 20% / 40% / 60% / 80% / 100%.
This is the type of analysis most marketing divisions do for their new
ventures and products. The TMO could learn a lot, and get a wealth of
new ideas for structuring "course offerings" from doing such outreach
investigations and subsequent statistical analysis.
-Add sections:
* "why do you think think people are not participating?"
* "what are your ideas on how to increase short-term and longer
term participation in the dome?"
