Look at it this way: A judge ruled that the will was valid and that Shatananda COULD have been Shankaracharya according to SBS's wishes except that he wasn't qualified because he wasn't a Sanskrit scholar. SBS obviously knew that Shatananda wasn't a Sanskrit scholar and yet he still put his name first on the will. What is more important, in this case, a committee of scholars, who wanted a scholar, or the legally validated will of SBS? If you agree with the scholars, then one guy was made Shankaracharya. If you agree with SBS, then another was made Shankaracharya. It's that simple.
