Personally, I would define proper Vastu as being difficult to invade! DC's streets are a grid. It is pretty well laid out I think. I stay off the diagnal streets, they can cause trouble. But compared to Boston DC is very easy to get around. No need to make it more Vedic in my opinion, just fill in the potholes.
