The level of intensity of a lot these types of vociferous people is often due to past poison to their bodies, or because they are fanatic about whatever they do, and are likely headed for a breakdown, or they simply have a hidden religious agenda. Most normal people and regular ex-TM'rs are relaxed about TM , even if they now think its wierd.
