Playing a bit with this today, its pretty usful. Allows quick publishing of either Docs or SS, with its own URL. Like a quick and dirty web site.
Both Doc and SS allow for multi-site collaberation, versions, etc. And in Doc, you have basic text editing and formatting, plus HTML editing capabilities. Docs can be saved as RTF, Word, OpenOffice, PDF, etc. Not sure how well it does in importing complex Word docs, with heavy footnotes and formatting. But it probably does basic Word docs well. SS has most if not all Excel formulas, multiple sheet/tabbed files, etc. Doc could be an additional resource for publishing pictures and documents beyond the files section and/or Alex's server. Just post the link. It will then be easily found, searchable. Perhaps we could adopt standard header for such so all can be quickly accessed in a search. Such as PIC: ..... DOC .... SS .... , with dots being a description. Or place it in some Index file, with description, in the files section. Here are some pics demonstrating DOC picture capabilities. Oddly, the Google SS does not allow pasting of images to it like Excel does. Question: Trying to cut and paste in Google Doc and SS with right mouse click says "Your browser does not allow copying to clipboard, use Cnt C etc" I use Mozilla. Does anyone know how to open up clipboard copying.
