It's the reality of the situation. As I understand the "grant," the school system gets to keep only $10,000. Yes, but then 275 people would not have learned to meditate. I believe that David Lynch honestly wants *that* to be the effect that giving away his money has on the world. I also believe that he's hip enough to know that if he gave the money to the TMO that *no one new* would start TM as a result. They'd piss it away on some building or some new bagpipes for the "Rajas" or send it to India where it would disappear into the pockets of Maharishi's relatives.
