I remember reading a story or hearing a report about the East Indian Trading Co. (I think I have this name right) They were a London Based entity often implicated in global conspiracies dating back 100's of years. Well this report said they were doing their usual thing - controlling the market in tea, which was a big commodity in late 1800's or thereabouts. Around this time petroleum was discovered in terms of its economic value and basically overnight, they shifted their attention to oil, and haven't looked back since.
