 The Initiation of the Kalachakra Tantra invites everyone to pray together for peace within and for all nations and peoples without exception. Considered one of the most powerful ceremonies in the Buddhist tradition, the sole purpose of Kalachakra is to bring peace to this suffering world. This Initiation carries a message of great hope and healing since the Kalachakra Tantra contains teachings on the interrelationship between the outer world, the body, and the mind. Everyone is welcome to participate in the Kalachakra Initiation so long as they come with a good heart for humanity. When Buddha Shakyamuni originally opened the Kalachakra mandala in the Kingdom of Shambhala 2800 years ago, it had a pacifying affect on the world. Throughout the ages many Tibetan masters have granted the Kalachakra Initiation, especially including in modern times His Holiness the Dalai Lama as well as other great masters from all the Tibetan traditions. His Holiness Penor Rinpoche will grant the Kalachakra Initiation on the occasion of the 10th Anniversary of the Palyul Retreat Center. His prayer in offering the Kalachakra is for us to find peace within ourselves, with those around us, within our communities, and, finally, throughout our world community.
