It's true enough. Corporate computer manuals are always anonymously authored. 
My ex 
(daughter's mom) has been a technical writer for decades and as far as I know, 
her name 
doesn't appear on any of her technical publications.

No company puts their tech writers' names on the manuals. If he was a 
contributor to one 
of the company *magazines*, that would be another matter, however.
