I was thinking about why Scientology would choose, among the many
sometimes marginal things in the world to go public against, why it
would choose psychiatry. 

  What marketing - raise your public profile and at the same time
appeal to folks that can afford your services. Amazing. The TMO does
similiar stuff, just not as well.
