Vedic Pandits - etiquette

Dear campus and community members,

We are all so honored and fulfilled to be hosting Maharishi's Vedic
Pandits from India on our campus.

We'd like everyone to be aware of a few points regarding interactions
with the Vedic Pandits:

* We want them to feel warmly welcomed - so of course please feel free
to greet them with "Jai Guru Dev" and a smile if you should see them.

* In India, no one shakes hands or greets others with physical
contact, particularly Pandits. Greetings are always done simply with
the palms of the hands placed together.

* The Pandits are expected to maintain their own life in a private
way, according to their daily routine. They will not be interacting
with others on campus (they do not speak English). We want them to
carry on their private life without being disturbed by anyone.

* Therefore please do not go into their buildings or gather outside
them. Please do not request anything of them or take them anywhere.

The Vedic Pandits will be very pleased with all the preparations we
have all made for them. Thanks so much to everyone for all the help
you have given and continue to give.

What an enormous blessing this is for us and for our community,
nation, and world.

Jai Guru Dev
