In the 2004 debate in which Bush was wired for sound, bush stated that he would do or say nothing has a president that would lessen the moral of the troops. He said his admission that going to war in Iraq was a mistake, would be like telling the troops they had suffered and died for nothing. Well his making a bad joke into international news does what to the troops? I guess it builds moral because the troops realize that he is doing it to save the party hold on the senter and the house????????

Heck, Bush has *deliberately* belittled the troops,
with considerable fanfare. Remember the video at the
correspondents' dinner a few years ago in which he
pretended to be looking for WMD in the Oval Office?
A lot of people were offended by that, but I don't
recall his having apologized for it.
