Either that or (more likely) paranoia had infiltrated
Maharishi's mindset.

Think this through. Who would *have* to do such a thing?
Maharishi is a one-man "negative PR generator" when 
viewed by most people who are not his long-term followers,
and who thus have not lost their critical faculties.

Just think about tearing down all the capitol cities of
the world and rebuilding them according to S-V principles.
Think about the McTM Mall Outlets. Think about the forced
"recertification." Think about Rajas and their robes and
bagpipes and Burger King crowns.

While it is *possible* that someone in the CIA could
be paranoid enough to assign someone to demonize the TMO,
it would be the cushiest assignment in the agency. All
they'd have to do is kick back and do nothing, and then
send the latest TM press releases to their superiors as
an indication of how effective their black ops work has
been.  :-)
