Louis, I am a former TM teacher who went to TTC in 1975 and learned the
Sidhis in 78. I wanted more and wanted to know more about meditation
and meditation techniques. I learned that field is what is called
mantra shastra. A few years ago I made the acquaintance of an Indian
tantric who had moved to the US. After about 6 months of testing him
and him me I took initiation from him. I am now trained to teach the
form of yogic meditation of that tradition which involves giving the
student shaktipat. A lot of this training involved learning mantra
shastra. As part of the process I first learned yogic meditation from
him and then later came the tantric initiation (very powerful) which
included learning the "guru mantra." The guru mantra is extremely
powerful and energizing and as like others who have learned it say the
shakti is so thick it is like butter and it is as if you could cut it
with a knife. That mantra energizes other mantras I use including the
ones for the yogic meditation.
