Exactly.

A Christian practicing a technique that is supposed to
allow him visions doesn't tend to see Krishna. A Hindu
doesn't see Jesus. A person practicing a technique 
that was touted as giving him the ability to fly doesn't
suddenly start having stigmata instead.

The placebo effect is *not* to be ignored in the analysis
of spiritual traditions. At least not to be ignored if
you want to consider all the possibilities.
