Because the TMO didn't want him to associate
himself with MMY in any way once he had broken
with the movement. They didn't want him to be
able to trade on his previous association with
MMY to promote himself. He probably would
have, too, at least until he got himself well
established and no longer needed to.
Or, maybe Chopra didn't want Marshy to promote himself using Chopra's
name. Maybe Chopra got tired of being the laughing stock of the planet
and JAMA. From what I've heard Marshy pleaded with Chopra to stay in
the movement, but Chopra said that after the JAMA caper he was going
to teach on his own. Deepak Chopra is now more popular than the
Marshy.
