Well, they don't look that much alike to me.  I think
your house is elegant.  Big.  Definitely big.  But not
at all garish. (Actually, the Taco Bell is pretty
elegant as fast-food joints go, but I wouldn't want to
live in it.)

Do any of the contributors here use "smile" like that?
It rings a bell, but I can't place it.  I guess s/he
just lurks occasionally, or s/he would have known
better than to have you pegged as a TB.

Ego drama indeed, complete with house envy.
