Folkie Donovan & David Lynch?

by Randy Lewis Los Angeles Times 5Dec2007

An early front-runner for the 2007 Odd Couple Pairing of the Year
award has emerged with word that filmmaker David Lynch and '60s folk-
rock hero Donovan will team for three free appearances this month.

They'll make stops Jan. 12 at Lincoln Center in New York, Jan. 14 at
the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C., and conclude their brief tour
Jan. 21 at the Kodak Theatre in Hollywood.

Donovan will play songs from his '60s heyday (possible tunes
include "Mellow Yellow," "Sunshine Superman" and "Hurdy Gurdy Man")
while Lynch plans to discuss his latest film ("Inland Empire") and
new book ("Catching the Big Fish") from the stage.

The two came together through their shared interest in Transcendental
Meditation, and the tour was created to raise awareness and support
for in-school meditation programs designed to help at-risk youths.

Tickets are free, but registration is required at www.la.david-
donovan.org.
