Diarrhea is typically a cause of electrolyte imbalance, not the other way around. Also see: http://www.steamdistiller.com/distil.htm (Objectivity obviously suspect, but interesting argument.) >From what I can discern, electrolyte imbalance could be a problem if you drank large amounts of distilled water during and after vigorous exercise, but a Thermosful over the course of a day for someone only moderately active likely to cause any problems.
