BTW, whatever happened to separation of church and state? Al Gore's
movie _An Inconvenient Truth_ was banned recently from schools in
Washington state and one of the complaints was that "The Bible says
that in the end times everything will burn up, but that perspective
isn't in the DVD."
Seems like the fundies would like global warming. Jibes with that
prediction.
Truer than we think. I was talking to a friend at work who happens to
be a Jehovah's Witness and we were talking about global warming (warm
New England winter, etc.) and Iran/Iraq. And his reponse was it was
all 'very comforting to him' because he knew the end daze were nigh
and the bible was so accurately predicting it all: his lord would
soon return. Never mind this was with Jesus-as-commander-in-chief
watching from above with his recently raptured 144,000 JW's watched
in glee as millions are slaughtered "in his name". Hallelujah. I just
looked at him and he had that blissful, glassy-eyed look I knew all
too well.
