One wonders at Vaj's ability to self-examine (in the small-s sense of hte word). He has touted about 5 different news articles on the SAME meditation study over the past year. In the past year or so, there have been quite a few interesting studies published on TM. For instance, according to Japanese physics researchers, TMers glow in the dark less than people practicing Benson's Relaxation Response. Another recent study, done by the co-inventor of one major form of brain imaging, shows that TMers respond less to pain, and that the changesshow up within a few months, not 10,000 hours of practice. Etc. Given Vaj's claimed indifference towards scientific research, he sure plays that one Buddhist Compassion meditation study for all its worth (and then some, IMHO).
