"Some legislators are hoping to get these issues addressed this session, but state Rep. John Whitaker, D-Hillsboro, conceded while these issues have been discussed in years past, the Legislature has taken no action.
He said the issue of local control has been a battle between political parties for at least the last 10 years. A bill was introduced recently into the House agriculture subcommittee for discussion.
