I think this is the best film ever made about this issue. I remember seeing
it with my girlfriend at college in a mall theater in 1979. Afterwards she
said, "What the f*** was that?"

what would *your* criteria be, if you've
formulated them? I'm honestly curious, because
so many here and on other forums seem completely
convinced that people they've met or people who
are no longer alive but whom they've read about
or heard about *are* enlightened. So I'd like
to know on what basis you feel that way. Thanks
in advance.
First of all M said to be very cautious of people telling you or leading you
to believe that they are enlightened. He said some people easily fool a lot of
people, even the seasoned yogi. Back in the early 70's there were a number of
people that had "followings" that I never fell for, like Judy Mayfield. Also M
said some people could be having lengthy experiences in which they think they
are enlightened but they lose it later. I think the only way somebody other
than M could convince me they were enlightened would be to transmit that
experience directly to me and still I would wonder if they had stabilized their
own experience. Even if M were to tell me somebody was enlightened, I would
second guess him and wonder why he wanted me know that person was enlightened.
Quite frankly, I think its best just to assume M is the only enlightened person
in the TMO and nobody else is anymore evolved than you are.
