It is probably the best system for us in the US, but the sheer power of our economy and government in a materialistic society (which I see nothing wrong with intrinsically) makes it difficult to manage. Its greatest strength, that of being a flexible indication of the nation's consciousness, is also its greatest weakness, because it means the country can be quickly exploited and controlled by those in power, with few true checks and balances.
