Depends on what they'd do if you offered them a nice
house free of any conditions.

The fantasy is that homeless people are living
on the streets because they prefer to do so.

One way people cope with finding themselves in
a desperate situation for which they themselves
are largely responsible is to pretend they've 
chosen it.
