TM is not being taught as a Religion, therefore one must still
practice Religion for progress. Just like a traveler needs a map
(Religion) until he knows the way, so Religion is instrumental for
spiritual progress.

Initially meditation (dhyana) was taught in a broader context of
Sanatana Dharma (the eternal Religion of the Vedas) which contained
the Father of Yoga's Patanjali's recommended *eight* limbs. MMY is
only teaching a few of those limbs when all eight were recommended,
in particular left out are Yama and Niyama (akin to the ten commandments).

So don't sell yourself short, start practicing Religion and watch how
much more quickly you advance spiritually.
