agree with "asinine assumption"

furthermore, it is my 2cents that surveys, facts, statistics really do
not prove much because most of them are based on the Aristotle type of
logic which basically is "True or False with nothing in between"

as physicist Russell Targ points out this has lead to the western
culture being ruthless, competitive, out-of-balane masculine, selfish,
driven by fear, etc

in his book "The End of Suffering" which has signs of "awakening?" he
points out that there is a marriage between quantum physics and
Budhist type of logic which allows (T or F) or (both T & F) or
(neither T nor F)

in addition Adyashanti points out that there is only One Absolute
Truth and relative to that all other truths are relative and basically
are "what we want to believe because it makes us feel good; or bad if
we want to feel bad"

makes simple common sense to me!

but that aside, not taking a survey too seriously, it can be fun and i
can add this:

1) I am very grateful to MMY for TM and his reminder of Christ's
teaching that "the K of G is within"

2) TM helped me a lot to quiet my mind and look at the world
differently and act in the world differently. Except for taking care
of parents 20 years, not really caring about world; was more
interested in purusha which never panned out and I'm glad

3) during daily TM, did not have very deep experiences, and am
thankful because that made it easy for me to give up all of MMY
concepts which I feel were/are unnecessary and addictive

4) my "flashy and very inspirational experiences" came outside of TM
program in MMY's presence, no doubt because I loved him as a Christ or
Budha; and that Love was returned powerfully perhaps inspite of MMY
personality

5) it was puzzling that I had very very blissful experiences during
yogic flying whereas I expected nothing would happen because not going
deep enough in TM; but only at WPA; at home YF was questionable and i
gave it up

6) in retrospect, MMY was more like John the Baptist along with many
others, Muktananda, etc
and Amma is the Christ, Budha, Krisha, Rama, Divine Mother all
powerfully incarnated in a feminine body.

7) in addition, there were other profound influences, Krishnamuri,
Yogananda and SRF church close by, Ramakrisha, "Imitation of Christ", etc.

8) now the influence of Amma( bhakti, japa, seva, amazing knowledge in
simple words, meditations of choice, FREEDOM to pursue my inclination
which now is Advaita ) is beyond anything I could have imagined with MMY

9) but, i do appreciate that for others TM has served them well and
for a few in a relative short time; i think the TM technique was
suited for the times which are now over in terms of many doing it;
and like Amma says "one way for all is dangerous"

10) so all is well, and if anyone feels stuck, controlled, or whatever
get a Hug from Amma and/or break out on your own for FREEDOM; there
are some excellent advaita teachers( Francis Lucille, Mooji, Stuart
Schwartz, Adyashanti, etc ) who can help if you are predisposed to let
go of all clinging and all concepts and all experiences.

Advaita says that the Truth is what we are, not what we experience.

As you see, to try and fit all that which is only a partial expression
of "my relative truths" into some statistical chart or whatever is what?

I enjoyed reading accounts of others. Thanks.

God Bless,
amarnath
