He *should* have been on the federal list of
those not allowed to purchase firearms even
without the woman pressing charges.

She did report him to the campus police, and
there was a ruling by a local magistrate that
he was a danger to himself, which should have
been reported to federal authorities.

But state law in Virginia is worded differently
than the federal law, and this ruling didn't get
him on the federal list. There's an article going
