my 2 cents experience with flying: At the AEGT course( 1978 ), my back went out and the course leader told me it was my responsibility for not being in perfect physical shape. A chiro fixed by back and i had wonderfull blissful experiences but always with some caution about my back. Later on, some problem with the knees here and there. Then after some years and many WPA, I noticed that the dust from the aging foam was not so good for my respiratory system, especially when the breath of fire kicked in. Finally, because my life( taking care of mother and working ) did not allow ample time for rest to assure smoothness, I( normally very peaceful and friendly ) was yelling at my bosses for their ineptness. I had a strong sense of social justice and never yelled at those I supervised. I said enough is enough; this is crazy; MMY wants only perfection which he himself is not demonstrating.
I quit yogic flying, but continued with TM untill I got a hug from Amma. Then a whole new world of Sprirituality opened up for me with all sorts of FREEDOMs and new spiritual practices. After nine years of japa, devotional practices, chanting 1000names, 108 names, seva, going to India, etc, I added, gradually over the last three years, doing advaita and just this week am looking into a very simple and effortless approach of meditating on the heart with Love as the vehicle. At 67 years of age, I can do this in any sitting position or even lying down as long as the body is relaxed and comfortable. Check it out if interested: http://www.goldensufi.org/SufiMeditationoftheHeart.html All with Inner Guidance from My Inner Amma~Self~God. When I get my yearly hug, Amma lets me know with Her smile, etc if I'm on the right track.
