Are you kidding? Maharishi has a lousy reputation in India. If he’s
remembered at all, he’s thought of as a businessman. Amma and SSRS are
the best-known living gurus, and they have stellar reputations, as do
a number of dead ones, such as Ramana Maharshi, Yogananda, Aurobindo,
etc.
Actually, I thought he had been banned from India on account of
financial shenanigans. Same thing over here.
