Just for the record, a solid majority of
senators voted for the measure (51-42), but it
needed 60 votes to pass.

The vote was for an amendment to a water
projects bill that would have required the
Army Corps of Engineers to take climate science
into account in planning projects that might
destroy natural barriers that protect coastal
communities from storms and floods.

In other words, the reference to a "global warming
measure" is technically accurate but misleading.
