Well, my experience with advanced techniques (I got two of them, for free, from Maharishi) was that they involved a total of three syllables and a total of 10 seconds of instruction each -- no puja, no followup, no nada, just a whispered mantra). For free it wasn't such a bad deal. I'm hoping that this new generation will at least get a puja. Otherwise, someone who has just paid 3K for one syllable might get the mistaken impression that they're being ripped off. :-)
