Be a Great Existence -

Namaste GuruJI and group,

Namaste and Great Day -

I think I am off to Germany tonight. Here is a post and exchange in
another
group that has a hodgepodge of disciples following different gurus or
do it
yourselfers:

G enjoy your germany time.

Tanmay:

?My Guru said in Realization, everything is heard as OM.

G when one does the mantra OM - eventually all sounds will
morph into OM - this makes entering into meditation easy no
matter whether sound is there or not.

T The dead Guru's can tell you this in their books, channelers can
channel a Guru that will tell
you this, but a living Guru telling one this reaches beyond the
intellect.

Poster response:

* I've experienced that for many years now. For me, ocean waves,
rain,
wind, etc., are a clear sound of AUM. Does that mean I'm enlightened?
Mark

G No it means that one is in sync with the Universal Sound that
is running like a thread through all sound. This is a good thing. It
is not a firm indicator of enlightenment by any means.

Tanmay response:

T - I am not your Guru, I couldn't tell you. Interesting though because
there are people with various experiences, possibly such as yours,
then they declare themselves enlightened. Then they no longer move
forward but should because they are not enlightened and think they are
accessing other levels than what is taking place. Maybe they have
heard their Guru explain enlightenment, then think, THIS IS IT.

G When one enters into the Universal Sound it means that one is
more inwardly centered.

T- Maybe they have read fine details, then again think they have reached
it. My Guru did just this but her Guru let her know that what she
thought was enlightenment was not. My Guru said she would have stoped
at that point if it were not for her Guru pushing her forward.

G this is quite true - We can still be in suffering and yet because of
experiences that are taking place - it is possible to convince ourselves
most wrongly of being*enlightened*.

T - My Guru further commented about one that I ran into that was declaring
enlightenment- that this person needed a one to one relationship with
her Guru and because she is not doing this, she is lost. The person
laughs at this because she knows she is there so why bother. This my
Guru would call a casualty. However, there is eternity, so no shortage
of time, other opportunities will come about.

G Unfortunately yes this person is wrongly convinced and
so is restrictive and in self mode of convincing. When you are
around them for awhile it will become quite apparent that what
is taking place is rather a projection of what they think enlightenment
is. There are not the hallmark signs which are indicators of a true
Consciousness of Enlightenment.

T- I think there really is something to this. Yogananda was an example,
his master confirmed his enlightenment, and probably charged him with
the responsibility of being a Sat Guru. I have not researched which
Guru's have this and which not. I am sure there are plenty for both.

G in my case my Sat Guru kept watch on my progress and what was
my state of abiding Consciousness. ONLY after it was cognised that this
was unchanging did He make the commission for this one to go forward
to be a Sat Guru.

T - Ramana Maharishi, considered one of the greats was self discovered.
Then this is a big incentive for many that jumped on the band wagon
and said look at him, guru is no higher than me, for afterall, the
Guru is what I am, so he didn't need a Guru, then neither do I.

G Actually Ramana said at some point in time i had a Guru - He still
kept Arunachalla as his contact point for Surrender to Shiva. Ramana
was not as many believe just self aware without having had a Guru.
He himself never claimed this to be the case.

T - Yet Ramana said 100% that one must have a Guru ( for enlightenment)-
(my Guru is the one that said that this is what Ramana said). I guess
we can say that Ramanas pointings are dogmatic?

G hahahahahaha - wouldn't call it a dogma but an clear understanding
of mind - and human nature. A Guru knows the difference between mind
play and Pure Awareness - between mental drama and Pure Consciousness.
Those caught in maya - do not have the needed clarity. The inner Guru will
resonate when a True Sat Guru brings Wisdom that indeed it rings as
clarity.
But to attempt to rely on a voice being heard - or a vision - or a
projected
god
image is to perhaps have what is encountered being skewed by egos wants,
desires, aversions, and false imaginings. Mind is extremely creative and
even
more so in subtle realm.

Maha Shanti OM
