I've come to love good episodic TV, because it affords the creator a luxury that is present in the novel but rarely in movies -- long, loving, luxurious character development. You can present them slowly, revealing different aspects of them over time, like peeling an onion. Deadwood certainly did that, and John From is on the same track (as are Heroes and Lost). What I like about John so much so far is that it really isn't *about* John. It's more as if the odd phenomena that have manifested so far were always present, and John's function is to *reveal* the existing potential within this odd, dysfunctional group mind, not create it. That's a rare thing in this age of worshipping gurus, and considering them the "source" of power or siddhis or even knowledge. IMO they aren't, and have never been. It's more like they're just field-effect generators, folks who are a bit more tuned in to What Is Already Happnening, and when you're in that energy field, you can become a bit more aware of What Is Already Happen- ing. An important difference, and a good one to see on mainstream television IMO. BTW, Peter, I thought the line in episode 5 (I haven't seen episode 6 yet) was, "See God, Kai." See, not seek. Again, a small difference, but an important one. > Peter wrote: > > An amazing show that you have to watch from the > > beginning.
