I'm not sure if I got it right, but I think he called
/kuNDalinii/ 'germ of life'. I wonder if he referred
to /retas/ by that. FWIW, /kuNDalinii/ (as most Sanskrit
words whose nominative singular ends with a long vowel,
I believe) is a feminine gender word, like /shakti/
(although it *doesn't* have a long vowel at the end of
its nominative singular, argh!)
(But in this case also the *masculine* form [lemma: kuNDalin] has
a long vowel at the end of its nominative singular:
/kuNDalii/, argargh!)
