The first time I noticed Guru Dev was his picture on the inside cover of the Gita translation-- liked it. I began to feel a very gradual affinity for Guru Dev-- not even noticeable, and overcoming me so slowly over a number of years-- just began to be drawn to him. Then I did the TMSP in 1980, and moved to Santa Barbara. My spine used to get very very straight when I did my program, but I never felt any sensation up or down my spine like when people describe kundalini experiences. I used to ride my bike on day long rides in Santa Barbara, and the first thing I remember was the sight of guru dev's head and shoulders in my third eye, inner sight. So I didn't invite Him in. He responded to a need I had in my heart for a life teacher, and gradually over the past 27 years a very strong bond has developed, naturally, just like any other long term relationship. >Can he possible take care of all that wants his support, are his >resources limitedless? I am sure that is true. I don't think of myself as particularly special or unique, so I can't see any restriction or reason why anyone can't have the same relationship that I do. Others have spoken about it here too. > I remember > Maharishi once said that an enlightened man can "know anything > anytime, but not everything all of the time" Yes, we become much more tuned into the natural world, and not so easily fooled by our thoughts, prejudices and desires. Yes, that is true, but oddly, doesn't work as a parlor trick. Must have to do with dignity.:-) > Thanks again for sharing your experiences with us Jim ! Hey, thanks for asking-- its quite a relief to have someplace to share this stuff-- not exactly what I would bring up at a staff meeting!:-)
