If you get the Sundance Channel and have missed the new series, Live
From Abbey Road, you gotta check this out. As expected, all the
artists perform in Abbey Road Studios, and we even get occasional
vignettes from Sir Paul. The performances are eminently personal with
a real ambient kinda vibe to them.
Here's the part of this week's episode with Pink Floyd guitarist
David Gilmour. The second song, "Smile", co-written with his wife and
muse, is real interesting in it's use of acoustic slide guitar and
electric lap steel, blended with lush acoustic steel strings. Pass
the joint please.
