It's not my blog; I just happened to stumble across it today. I think I may have been to Vivo once, but I don't remember for sure. If I did eat there, it certainly doesn't stand out in my mind as having been an outstanding meal. But, then, I'm very fond of my own cooking, and it takes a real gourmet restaurant to impress me.
The owner is apparently one of the Guptas, they also own Gupta's Vegetarian, on the square. Never been to either one, but the other Gupta (I'm assuming it's his brother) was the one who, a few years ago, claimed my cat was scratching off the paint on his car. Is that even possible? Maybe if it was a leopard, but a 6 lb. house cat? Well, anyway, the police got involved in that one, and it was generally a not-very-pleasant experience.
These guys apparently think everyone is out to get them.
The same people took over Entree Cafe, and the food is nowhere near as good as it was with the previous owner.
Frankly, I thought it was lousy with the previous owner as well. I've never been real impressed with anything there after GM up and went.
I ate there a few weeks ago and had the organic mixed salad with a piece of chicken, and it was actually quite good. But, the time before that I had a piece of chicken with cooked veggies, and the chicken was dry and tasteless, and the veggies were overcooked and horribly seasoned. It was so shockingly bad that I swore I'd never eat there again; the only reason I went back there a few weeks ago is because that's where my friend wanted to eat. However, now that the owners are attempting to suppress free speech, I will now boycott all their restaurants (no big loss for them, considering I rarely eat in town.)
Write a review on Yelp. Good luck to them suing that one. Sal
