Googled it. Shirey sez: "Most harmonicas are tuned to a diatonic scale, a major scale. The harmonicas I play are tuned to harmonic and natural minors as well. I stack them on top of each other to play jazz chords and dissonant chord clusters, then I run them through pitch-shifters and play them through bull horns to get my signature sound."
