A brief review 'cos I'm knackered.
The single is good; the radio edit is practically the album version, but
the new Rollo / Sister Bliss remix is a bit of a stormer, and Paul Van
Dyk's done a good job too. The other mix (Jan Driver?!) passed me by.
The best track from the two CDs, however, is definitely the original mix
of "God Is A DJ" for me. It's the best mix of that song I've ever heard,
and the first time I've not thought of it as just a rehash of
"Insomnia". In my opinion they ended up remixing it so that it
_deliberately_ sounded more like "Insomnia", when they should have left
it as it was.
I have a pet hate of Armand Van Helden though, I've never liked any of
his versions of Insomnia and this previously-unreleased one is no
exception.
My prediction for the charts, based on Faithless' fairly loyal fan base,
is number 8; however it will drop heavily in the second week, in my
opinion. "Pet Shop Boys syndrome"...
