Came across a real nice item yesterday. A CD promo sampler for Dido's
upcoming CD.
This promo is called "The Highbury Fields EP" and it is a US promo CD that
contains 4 tracks from her forthcoming "No Angel" CD PLUS a non-album
track. CD has fantastic packaging for a promo, the entire jewel case is
transparent red, the cover has a nice pic of her (she reminds me in looks
of Jewel), inside there is a short bio on her on the tray underneath where
the CD goes. The best part is the CD itself. It is a 3 inch CD but then it
has clear transparent plastic around it to make it a standard 5 inch CD,
really cool looking.
The tracks are as follows:
1. "Here With Me" (4:14) No involvment from any of the Faithless clan on
this one.
2. "My Lover's Gone" (4:27) YES, this is the song they sample in
"Postcards".
A BEAUTIFUL ballad, I love this one. Co-produced and co-written with Jamie
Catto.
3. "Hunter" (3:57) Co-written by Rollo
4. "Honestly OK" (4:46) Co-produced and co-written by Rollo
5. "Worthless" (7:48) Back cover says this is only 4:27 long but it is not.
Produced, and written by Rollo, Sister Bliss and Dido. This states it is a
NON-album track.
I loved all five songs, much like "Sunday 8PM" it is very moody,
atmospheric, downbeat music but it sounds great to me. Some very catchy
material, the Rollo produced stuff has some great dance elements to it,
this definately will be one of my favorites of the year if the rest is
anything like this sampler.
Back cover says the CD release date in stores in the US is 5/18, I wonder
if this is still true?
